I visited the Highlands this time last year and as I was looking back over my holiday snaps a couple of days ago, I picked up on something. Every town, village and mountain is clean, you don’t get the mess and vandalism that you see everyday on the outskirts of London. There’s something different about Scotland, especially the Highlands. We spent a lot of time on the Isle of Skye and it really has to be one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The mountains are beautiful and there’s not shortage of them, whilst there are castles, sea lions, fresh fish restaurants, shabby chic shops and cute coffee shops. As peaceful as it is in the Highlands, the scenery and the clean environment is the biggest selling point in my eyes. I’ll certainly be returning at some point in the near future and I can only hope it’s just as it was when I left.
